Seems like a fishy number, contacted Rogers independently of the number in regards to the message. The rep I reached originally said everything looked fine but when I pushed to double check for any porting requests (after reading through the comments here) he did find one and transferred me to the fraud department. They confirmed there had been a request, that it was now cancelled, and that they'd blocked future porting requests. I asked about the number and why it wasn't listed on Rogers, the answer was that it was a temporary number for the fraud department and would be changing next month. As a note-worthy coincidence, I got an email this morning containing one of my passwords and attempting to extort money. I've since updated all my passwords and thanks to that I was hyper-sensitive to this text. Good chance these things were not unrelated.

• Call type: Tech Support Scam-I got a text message today around 11am & text message was like..... "Rogers svc msg: We received a request to transfer your phone number to another provider. If you didn't authorize this, please call us now at 1-877-327-8503" First of all, IT'S A SCAM. I called rogers and found out that my number is being ported out & have to recover it. Agent asked me to stay on line, after a while I got the number back.

• Call type: Tech Support ScamI got the same text yesterday but double checked with Rogers via live chat. It is a legit message I call the number and was lucky to get through with no waiting. The rep was able to stop the transfer in the nick of time but I did get a text from paypal with an authentication code so the criminal did have a moment to try some tricks. My number was dead for an hour or so after the rep blocked the transfer attempt but I was told that. There is a now 'port block' on all our numbers and a PIN on the account. Rogers called back this morning to see if we had any questions about what happened yesterday and strongly suggested changing all passwords on banking, utilities, streaming services and email addresses. I am a happy Rogers customer after the care they took in blocking the attempt and following up.

• Call type: OtherThis is legit! But I called Rogers to put a block on it and it was too late. Immediately call your credit card companies and freeze your accounts. He changed my email password and amazon password with stealing my number. Didn’t get very far With my funds frozen but a lot of work getting back into all my accounts.

This is a legit number. I called it and had them do a port block. I went into Polo Park Rogers store in Winnipeg and confirmed the details of my call in my account on the service rep's screen.

Do not call this number or click on the link. They cloned my phone and ported out the cell number on Monday. These individuals are still trying to take money from my bank account and paypal since then. Even though we filed a police report and the police are monitoring our finances, Rogers has been useless with trying to get help. They say the fraud department is involved but will take 5-10 business days. I have had this cell number for 20 years but because of their lack of customer service, how they were able to allow my privacy be breached and how they refused to take this seriously, I am leaving Rogers. I guess loyalty doesn't run both ways.

I got this text and within a hour my service was gone. If you get this text call Rogers as soon as you can otherwise you might lose your number. I had to get a new SIM card but they did get my number back. This is a new scam out there but the text from Rogers is not the scam they are messaging you to help you. I just wish it didn’t look so unreal cause I thought it was bull and because of that caused me a lot of trouble.

• Call type: Othergot the text message after midnight last night (I am a rogers customer) and by 11am, I figured out my number was ported out when I tried to text a message to a friend and the message wouldn't send. On the phone with rogers now and they can't see where my number went but have confirmed that my number isn't showing in their system and that its fraud.

• Call type: OtherJust to be clear on all of these comments. The 877-327-8503 number seems to be a legit Rogers number. It is a matter of someone fraudulently porting the number to another carrier. Not sure why Rogers isn't listing the number. If you call Rogers customer service number, they don't seem to be able to determine that someone is trying to port your number. Do not ignore these text messages.

• Call type: Tech Support ScamMy Rogers number was also stolen with the same text message. When I googled the 1-877-327-8503, nothing came up. I contacted Rogers online and they said that my number was NOT being transferred. A few hours later my Rogers account was closed and my credit card was added to a 'digital wallet' and was being used fraudulently in Montreal. Mastercard called my mobile (which had been transferred to another carrier) and figured out it wasn't me so they cancelled the card. Now I just need to change all my info/accounts, get a new phone number, pay Equifax and Credit Union to "monitor" my credit etc. The take-over of my phone and fraudulent credit card activity happened within a few hours of getting the text. Rogers said they would get back to me in 48-72hrs when they get around to looking into it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
