Have had these people call me twice now and the ext number is a long one at doesn't make sense... it is not 506-777-4558... just wondered if it is a scam

1-855-249-2290 is a valid toll free number used by Service Canada in various parts of Canada and extensively in the western provinces. The 10 digit extension is the direct dial number of the employee calling so if you call that number directly you can verify the call. The toll free number is provided to allow toll free return calls to Service Canada employees.

This # 1-855-:290-2290 Ext;257346101, the lady was asking me for my last two, SIIN ,# I then ask her what’s this about , her wouldn’t tell me until she gets tell me , until she gets , she can send me letter and I said I preferred a letter, so I’m waiting on the letter.

Also, they don't ask any personal information that they could scam you with. They literally say "so you worked at [insert company]...can you explain why you quit?" etc. If you applied to EI, pick up! It's not a scam.

saw number let it go to mail and they said call a.s.a.p your file needs more info Pretending to be Service Canada ,lol ext 4507817182 no reply! Phone: 855-249-2290

Missed this call and called back. Yes - Service Canada - with a 10-digit extension about my EI Claim. Glad I didn't listen as I need this processed quickly. Believe what you want but I'm glad I checked it out.

Take note that this number is for workers and residents outside of Canada and only for residents of Atlantic Canada. If they do provide you with an ext. make sure it is 506-777-4558.

http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/ei/information/outside_canada.shtml This link shows that the number is valid, I didn't answer the call because it was a "Private Number, unknown number" but they did leave a message to call them back, with the long extension number.

I just reviewed a call from this number and after I listen to the message tried to call back. A fellow by the name of Bennit was what he left behind was calling.
